The Dream Room – The Cause That Makes Children’s Dreams Come True

“The Dream Room” is a charity initiative of Kala Design Studio, which for the sixth consecutive year has made a child’s dreams come true by turning his room into a true interior masterpiece. Each year a name is drawn by lottery and the lucky child receives not just an interior design project, but a space filled with comfort and love, where every piece of furniture and detail is created with care and attention. But this charitable cause wouldn’t be possible without the support of dozens of Bulgarian entrepreneurs and manufacturers with a passion for the cause, who donate materials and services to create the magic of the Dream Room. With each passing year, more and more kind hearts join the project, eager to help every child get their own little world of happiness.

This year: comfort and style in Maggie’s room

Market Trend is involved in spreading the word about our cause every year. Thanks to them, over 300 children participate in the lottery from which we draw the name of the winners: our cause would not exist without them. ❤ market-trend.net This year’s Dream Room is dedicated to Maggie – a smiling girl with big dreams. The renovation began with a thorough inspection of the existing drop ceiling, lovingly made by Maggie’s father. With the assistance of Dian Tsvetkov, owner and manager of Mr Senkov, the decision was made to re-plaster and straighten the ceiling as well as all visible walls. Additionally, all electrical outlets were adjusted to match the project exactly. The team undertook not only the painting, but also the installation of 30cm thick decorative panels under the suspended ceiling, which required extreme precision. ❤ www.mrsenkov.bg Zhivko Zahov, General Manager at Electro Style, donated a magnetic Slim light bar that was installed in the darkest corner of the room above the window – it is so subtle that it is hardly noticeable, but makes the space significantly brighter. Zhivko also donated an LED strip for the concealed ceiling lighting. ❤ electrostyle.bg

Light and atmosphere

The crystal ceiling in the room was already purchased by the family when we started working on the project, a detail that adds elegance and style to the room. It was perfectly matched by the bedside lamp, personally donated by Milena Dragiyska, CEO of Lidl, who took the initiative to heart. ❤ www.lidl.bg Velina Veleva, the owner of Office V showed creativity and made Maggie’s work chair by printing the same feather pattern on the back that is printed on the wallpaper – a detail that creates a unique harmony and sense of integrity. ❤ officev.bg

Colours and textures with a royal twist

To hide the imperfections on the ceiling, a pale purple feather print wallpaper was chosen, printed at Magic Outdoor under the direction of Violeta Macheva. After multiple swatches and searching for the right shade, the wallpaper was installed so that the pattern seamlessly blended between the ceiling and the wall. Gluing the wallpaper to the ceiling as well requires extreme precision and is rarely executed, but Violeta’s team went to great lengths to make Maggie’s room exactly as designed. ❤ magic-outdoor.bg Crown paint was used for the walls, supplied by B&S Commerce- thesame paint used to paint the buildings of the English Royal Court. This turned Maggie’s room into a real royal oasis of comfort and style. Yavor Karadzhov, the owner of B&S Commerce, insists every year that only the highest quality paints, donated by him, are used for the realization of the Dream Room. We are happy that our cause reaches so many hearts. ❤ bns-commerce.com Intext cordially provided a white, simple door for the room – the exact model that was envisioned for the project. Intext traditionally participates in charity projects, further proof that there are incredibly warm and kind-hearted entrepreneurs in Bulgaria. ❤ intext.bg

Furniture created with love

The furniture for the “Dream Room” was created by Variant Mebel, under the direction of Boyan Tsviatkov. The project was executed to the last detail and fully coordinated with our requirements. All furniture was transported from Yambol to Sofia at the company’s expense and installed with the help of Evgeni Tanov from Kala Design Studio and Maggie’s father. ❤ variantmebel.eu Schneider Electric kindly provided the keys for the lamps and sockets, including special deviator switches that allow Maggie to control the lighting both from the entrance to the room and from her bed. ❤ se.com The upholstered bed was made by Brand BG, a company with a tradition in the production of sofas and upholstered furniture, headed by Anton Pavlov. The execution of the intricate shape of the bed was flawless. ❤ markabg.com The handles of all the furniture in the room are a true masterpiece of creativity – they were 3D printed by 3D BGPrint under the project of arch. Vasil Berovski from Kala Design team. The handles impress with their amorphous and original shape, which contributes to the contemporary look of the interior. ❤ 3dbgprint.com

Details that make the difference

WalkAround.Me, led by Irena Filipova, who filmed the room in 360-degree format for everyone to explore virtually. You can view the room virtually in 360 degrees by clicking here. Irena also gave away the ultra-realistic flamingo toy that acts as the room’s accent decor, which can be found on the toys.bg website, of which she is also the manager and owner. ❤ walkaround.metoys.bg Atanas Sgurev from Interiora.Me professionally photographed the finished interior design project and provided the photos free of charge. Thanks to his talent and generosity, the inspiring results of the realization of the “Dream Room” are captured in beautiful photographs. ❤ interiora.me
